Background: The Ivory Coast Minister of State M. Auguste Denise on Tuesday opened the first Junior Chamber International ever held in Africa. In his welcoming speech, M. Denise told delegates that the Ivory Coast Government had chosen to develop along capitalistic lines as a means of best furthering the country's economic and social progress and not through subservience to capitalistic goals.
Some 200 delegates from Africa, Europe and North American are attending the three day conference. The current membership of the organisation is put at 400,000 young businessmen in 82 countries.
