Background: Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Ismail Abdul Rahman visited a city near a captured Communist insurgent base on Friday (October 1). He met with police officials in the mining town of Ipoh Perak State. Communist insurgent in Malaysia has long been a problem for the government. Following the discovery of a large guerilla camp on the state, government officials began. Over attack Perak a move to overturn Communist strongholds in the area. The Communist Camp was capable of housing 60 insurgents and was a major concern to officials because of its proximity to the prosperous tin mining town of Ipoh and a police field force training area.
