Background: The first all-Africa trade fair came to a close in Nairobi, Kenya last Sunday (March 5) with Mr. M. Diallo Telli, Secretary-General of the Organisation of African Unity, calling it an unprecedented success.
The fair, opened of February 24 at Nairobi's Jamhuri Park, consisted of trade exhibits from 34 African countries.
According to Mr. Telli, who is from Guinea, the final tally on the number of visitors attracted to the pavilions is expected to top 150,000.
The purpose of the fair was to increase intra-African trade as well as focus world attention on the development potential of the African continent.
