Background: Mauritania's President Moktar Ould Daddah arrived in the Gabonese capital of Libreville on Saturday (21 November) to begin a three day official visit.
SYNOPSIS: Gabonese President Bongo was at the airport to greet his Mauritanian counterpart.
President Daddah's aeroplane taxied across the tarmac to welcome from traditional Gabonese dancers.
The two leaders exchanged warm greetings. They're expected to have at least two rounds of discussions during the visit. Talks will centre on consolidating the already firm ties between their countries. President Daddah will also be taken on inspection tours of areas being prepared for next year's Organisation of African Unity (OAU) summit meeting in Libreville.
The 14th OAU summit will be held next June, although final dates have not yet been announced. Preparations for the summit include a multi-million dollar conference centre and accommodation for 2,000 delegates.
