Comprising 12 trucks, the unit moves south from Hanoi each day under protection of nightfall, carrying rice, meat and vegetables to their troop positions in South Vietnam's Quang Binh Province at the 17th parallel. They move in accordance with radio instructions from Hanoi, taking routes to avoid possible American air attacks.
SYNOPSIS: A group of twelve trucks is maintaining a vital supply of food to North Vietnamese troops in Quang Binh Province, South Vietnam, despite intensive air bombardments by U.S. "planes. The drivers of North Vietnam's eight transportation unit moves mainly at night, with the added protection of heavy camouflage.
The food carried is basic, but nourishing...and easy to prepare. there's rice, noodles, meat and vegetables which can be ready for eating within minutes by boiling.
From the time they leave Hanoi at dusk each day, the trucks are in constant radio contact with the North Vietnamese capital. Their routes are chosen and diverted when there is the threat of an American air attack. The vehicles used were built in The People's Republic of China. Their destination is the seventeenth parallel, where North and South Vietnamese forces are engaged in heavy fighting.
