Background: INTRODUCTION: In Hungary, the Turkish Foreign Minister, Mr.Ilter Turkmen, has signed an agreement to boost cultural and scientific exchanges between his country and Hungary. When Mr. Turkmen met with Hungarian Prime Minister Gyorgy Lazar, their talks also focussed strongly on trade matters.
SYNOPSIS: The two men held their meetings in the Houses of Parliament in the capital, Budapest, and covered a range of subjects.
Mr. Lazar meeting Mr. Turkmen, before settling down to their talks. The two men later signed the cultural and scientific exchange agreement, and also confirmed that existing trade agreements on agricultural products would continue.
The main flow of farm products consists of foodstuffs that Hungary cannot readily grow in its much colder climate. In return for these, Hungary is in the process of delivering more than one thousand buses for Turkey's metropolitan transport systems. The buses will be put into service mostly in the Ankara area.
