Background: On March 1, 1832, the first passenger train service in France left St. Etienne station for Andrrezieux, 18 kilometres away. To mark the 150 years of passenger train service since then, old locomotives and trains were on show at St. Etienne on Monday (1 March). French Transport Minister Charles Fiterman opened the show, the highlight of which was a passenger train drawn by a steam locomotive which saw service in 1930. Stationary exhibits included locomotives and carriages dating back as far as 1850.
