Background: Delegates from 11 Arab States are taking part in the seventh Arab Teachers' Union conference in Kuwait. It was opened on Saturday (6 March) by the Minister for Justice and Acting Minister of Education, Jasem Khaled El-Marzook. The head of the Kuwaiti Teachers' Society, Khaled Mas'oud Al Fuhaid, who is chairman of the conference, spoke on the role of the teacher against the challenge of Zionism and "its expansionist ambitions". The head of the Arab Teachers' Union, Ahmad Abdul Sattar Al-Juwari, discussed the responsibility of teachers to encourage unity as a counter to enemy infiltration.
