    Background: Football, and Bolivia have beaten world championship, Argentina, by two goals to one. The game was played in La Paz Olympic Stadium last Wednesday (18 July), before na enthusiastic home crowd. The Bolivian eleven found it a hard match from the start.

    SYNOPSIS: Bolivia kicked off, and almost led in the opening minutes.

    Argentina defended and counter attacked with Carlos Lopez leaving three Bolivian defenders standing to defeat goalkeeper Jimenez -- one nil to the world champion in the 5th minute.

    The early goal motivated the Bolivians in a flight back, but the world champions managed to slow down the game and thereby conserve their strength in such a high altitude.

    In the 28th minute, Bolivia's Agiles set up a freekick -- Reinaldo followed through to make it one-all.

    Argentina kicked off in the second half...

    ...but failed to capitalise on this attack.

    Bolivia pressed on, and again it was Reinaldo who scored the winning goal in the 21st minute. of the second half.

    Two-one to Bolivia and that proved to the final score. Bolivia now meet Brazil in the next round of the America Cup.
