TRANSCRIPT: SEQ 4: MILLER: "Well, I mean it's sort of a joke in a way. It got to be almost embarrassing for a while there because everything was going so much my way and the other guys were struggling and having their problems and I had so many things going for me I felt I deserved a little bit of bad luck or a few bad shots. But, in turn, I was setting new goals for myself as I passed goals up. The final goal I was trying to get was in the two-fifties...I shot two hundred and sixty strokes and I was trying to get two-fifty-nine or two-fifty-eight. I'd never done that before. I think they said it was the lowest total since Frank Souchak shot it over in a little course in Texas, and it's the most strokes anybody won a tournament by. So in that way it was rewarding for me to have won by so many strokes and to win in front of a lot of people who were pulling for me."

DENNIS SWANSON: "Miller put together rounds of sixty-seven, sixty-one, sixty-eight and sixty-four to win with the lowest score on the P.G.A. tour in twenty years. The rest of the field played for second place."

"Jerry Heard won that honour with a score of two-seventy-four, good enough to win many tournaments."

"Miller was so far ahead he had to manufacture goals for himself to keep things interesting."

SWANSON: "Miller won the first three tournaments of 1974 and says there's no reason why he can't do that again. This is Dennis Swanson reporting."
