Background: Like every year thousands of Christians pilgrims have come to Jerusalem from all the corners of the world in order to spend the Baster week in ??? the very same place where Christ bore the cross. Swedish and English, French and German, Italian and Greek and many other languages within almost each group of pilgrims, carrying a symbolic cross form station to station and finally into the Holy Sepulchre. Led by their spiritual heads the Father leading the group will read what happened at each station and carrying the cross to the next station the group will sing the appropriate portion. The main procession, led by the Franciscan Fathers is usually followed by hundreds of believers and winds down Via Dolorosa at noon. No special security measures were in evidence.
