Background: A Hollywood stuntman has jumped off one of the highest building in the world. And, what's more, he lives to tell the tale.

SYNOPSIS: The building is the 1,165 feet (350 metres) Canadian National Tower in Toronto.

The stuntman was Dar Robinson, one of the film world's leading exponents of his art ... he sometimes stands in for Steve McQueen. But this was to be the most spectacular feat of his career. Mr. Robinson went up to the highest suitable platform on the building, over 1100 feet up ... (335 metres) and jumped.

Fortunately, he was attached to a wire harness which stopped his fall 200 feet (61 metres) from the ground. Robinson's helpers had tested the wind conditions before the jump by dropping a 180 pound (82 kilos) barrel. Afterwards, he admitted that there had been moments during his fall when he thought the stunt might not work. Had it not, someone would have become considerably richer. Robinson was insured for one million dollars.
