Background: Construction activity at Toulouse, France, as the Concorde, world's first supersonic Clipper takes final shape. Two aircraft, being built jointly and simultaneously by Sud Aviation of France and British Aircraft Corporation, are scheduled to roll out in November 1967 and fly for the first time in February 1968.
Pan American placed the first and largest order, and, will be the first American flag carrier to routinely fly supersonic Clippers at 1450 miles per hour.
Capacity, 124, but passengers will have to wait until 1971 then, from New York, it will be London in less than 3 hours, Caracas, in 2 hours. From Los Angeles to Hawaii 2 1/2 hours, as Pan Am Clippers go supersonic with the Concorde.
