    Background: A Palestinian source stated that a high Palestinian delegation would visit Iran in the next two weeks to prepare for the scheduled visit by Mr. Yaser Arafat (Chairman of the Executive Committee of PLO) to Iran in the next few weeks upon an invitation from Imam Khoumeini received by Arafat the day before yesterday. The source added that Arafat would open the branch of PLO in Tehran in the ex Israeli consulate building.

    Arafat, Abu Ayad, Salah Khalaf, Saleh Ghneim, Khalil Wazir and Nimer Saleh visited today the Syrian President, Hafez Al-Assad. The talks concentrated on the latest developments in Lebanon, the Israeli aggression against south Lebanon and Arafat's scheduled visit to Tehran.
