Background: VISNEWS filmed June 26 a clash between police and pickets in the printing dispute outside the works of the "Watford Observer"-one of the few local papers to continue publishing this week.

As local newsagents arrived to pick up their supplies by car, pickets rushed the police. A struggle took place and one man was arrested. He was charged with disturbing the peace.

A meeting was arranged between pickets and management who later issued a statement calling for peaceful picketing.

There have been two other clashes in the printing dispute today. The first took place this morning outside the offices of the South London Press in Streatham, as supplies of printed matter were being collected. The second occurred this afternoon at Television House, Kingsway, the London headquarters of Independent Television - where several hundred strikers demonstrated against the publication of the "TV Times".
