The members of the guilds assemble at 6 o'clock on a big meadow in the middle of the City. On this meadow, a snow-man is built up on a wood-heap.
At 6 o'clock exactly, they put in fire the wood. Minutes later, the flame seize the snow-man who is full of fireworks that is naturally explosing.
The symbol of the cold-winter is now consecrated to setting (downfall) and the people of Zurich are celebrating the new spring in this way.
