Background: The Lebanese Ambassador to the European Community, Mr. Labaki, signed an extra protocol to the 1965 trade and technical co-operation agreement with the Community in Brussels on Wednesday (16 May).
This brings the trade treaty up to date to include the three new members of the EEC -- Britain, Ireland and Denmark.
Mr. Van Der Meulen, the Belgian President of the permanent EEC ambassadors, and Mr. Durieu, the Commission's Director of Development and Co-operation, also signed the document.
Foreign ministers of the nine members of the community met in Brussels on monday and Tuesday. One of the major topics of discussion was the Community's relations with her Mediterranean neighbours.
