Background: The Army Headquarters Cricket Grounds, on a rain ladenend clouded sunday, are the scene of a Cricket Match between the Indian Generals and the members of the Parliament. Thus another step is taken in the direction of patching up the sore relations between the Civilians and Araymen. The recent resignations of General Thimaya had hardly faded when Nanavati came into picture. While the Generals blamed Civilians vehemently when Thimaya resigned, it was now the turn of Civilians to blame Army for the murder of a civilian. The red hot issues of interference was heading for a showdown when, it seems, both the parties realised it was better to patch up. There were good scenes of cordially at the Cricket Match. The Indian General Eleven was captained by C in C of the Indian Army General Thimaya while the Parliament Eleven was to be captained by Sardar Surjit Singh Majithia, Deputy Defence Minister who was busy in a meeting and in his absence the team was led by Mr. Jaipal, a senior member of Parliament.
