Background: The meeting took place in Moscow in the conference hall of the CMEA to mark the 10th anniversary of the International Economic Cooperation Bank. Taking part were representatives of the IECB from Bulgaria, Hungary, the GDR, Cuba, Mongolia, Poland, Rumania, the Soviet Union and Czechoslovakia as well as representatives of banks of Yugoslavia and other European banks, banks of America, Asia, Africa and Australia.
The meeting was declared open by Mr. Ben, president of the National bank of Poland.
Cairman of the IECB/Mr. Nazarkin said that the International Economic Cooperation Bank had been founded to promote economic cooperation and development of national economies of its members and to broaden their trade and economic relations with other counties. The ten-year activities revealed that the international socialist monetary system was a success.
