Background: After four days of violence, Calcutta today had its peaceful Civil Disobedience.. (At least at the time of typing 1745). Over 200 were arrested and the arrested included Mr. HEMANTA BOSE, former Minister for Public Works. He tried to address the crowd from the police car. Demonstrators shouted slogans and made to violent attempt to break police cordon. They all walked up to waiting police buses, shouting slogans and carrying flags. The buses then took them to the police stations.
