The crowd of 45,000 assembled in Ellis park, some of the recent South Africa V Australia cricket test series, were treated to spectacular rugger. Smith of Scotland and O'Reilly of Ireland scored all the tries - Smith crossing the line three times, O'Reilly twice. Terry Davies of Wales had an off-day and converted only once.
