Background: New York, on the eve of Khrushchev's arrival..an innocent-looking house in an innocent-looking street. But within, an 'underground' committee is in session. Our cameraman went underground himself to get this story - the story of how the pickets go to work for or against the political leaders in New York for the U.N. General Assembly. The first requisite of a picket is to have signs expressing the deep feelings you wish to portray, flags to demonstrate loyalty, symbols of the idealism that provokes your actions. A call goes to the local headquarters of one of the 'calls' - in this instance an expresso cafe where a cup of coffee may be your only sustenance during the picket hours, and from cells and headquarters alike the group pours into this cars to meet at the rendezvous.
