Background: First pictures of the new Crown Prince of Persia were taken in Teheran, Nov 1, when the baby was one day old.
Over a hundred cameramen and photographers were admitted to the maternity hospital in groups of ten. Each group had two minutes to take pictures of the baby through a glass window, watched by a nurse and Dr Jehanashah Saleh, the Queens physician.
As flowers arrived from thousands of wellwishers, the official bulletin reported on the satisfactory condition of mother and son. The baby boy weighed eight pounds eleven ounces at birth. He has been given the name of Reza, after his grandfather, founder of the Pahlevi dynasty.
