Background: Football teams representing Guinea and Ghana played a one-all draw in the Guinea capital, Conakry, on Sunday (14 July).
The friendly match was the first between the two countries since the Second All Africa Games held in Lagos, Nigeria, last year.
The match was played under rainy conditions and it was the home side which dictated the pace for most of the first half. The visitors were finding it difficult to handle the slippery conditions and after 10 minutes inside left Cherif scored the first goal for Guinea.
The Ghana Black Stars gradually began to find their rhythm but were unable to equalise before half time. In the second half the visitors continued to carry the attack into the Guinea half, but met strong defence.
The match looked like being a one goal to nil win for Guinea before the equaliser came with only minutes to go. Tolo sent a curling left foot shot from about 35 feet out and the ball slipped through the fingers of the Guinea 'keeper.
The final score, Guinea on Ghana one.
