Background: This morning, organized by the Commune of Rome and paid for by the same, solemn funeral services were held in this city in memory of world renowned tenor Beniamino Gigli.

The services were rendered even more impressive by an endless number of wreaths, the presence of numerous personalities and a great crowd: all wanting to render a last homage to the great operatic singer.

Beniamino Gigli's remains will womentarily rest in the cemetery of this city and at some later date will be transferred to the cemetery of Recanati: city where Gigli was born.
