SYNOPSIS: Australian tennis star Evonne Goolagong, the twenty-year-old top-seeded current Wimbledon Women's champion, was her way through to this year's semi-final on Monday by beating French international, twenty-nine-year-old Francoise Durr. Miss Goolagong -- serving in the first game of the first set -- took time establishing her supremacy, losing this point to Miss Durr, the number eight seed.

Miss Durr, the tenacious French idol, kept up the pressure. This was the last game of the first set. She was more adventurous in coming up to the net, and wood her own unorthodox low backhand to take several points. Despite this, she lost the first set eight-six.

By the last game in the second set, Miss Durr -- serving -- was trailing behind. She lost this point to Miss Goolagong, who held the advantage six games to five.

And in the same game -- the final of the second set -- Miss Durr served a double fault to the game, set and match to Miss Goolangong, eight-six, sever-five.
