SYNOPSIS: Mr Mubarak's making a brief tour of African countries as special envoy for Egypt's President Anwar Sadat, and arrived at Nairobi on Tuesday (20 September) for a two-day visit.
He and his 35-man delegation were welcomed at the airport by Kenya's acting Foreign Minister, Mr James Osogo, and other officials. Mr Mubarak told reporters at the airport that he had a personal message from President Sadat for President Kenyatta, whom he was to meet later.
It was expected that talks between the two would deal specifically with African issues, with affairs in Rhodesia and South Africa coming in for special attention. Mr Mubarak has also discussed Egypt's attitude to the Middle East situation with the leaders he's met on the tour, which takes in nine African countries.
