Casper returned a two-under-per 69 for a 12-under-per total of 272 at the Midlothian Country Club. It was his first tournament win since 1971, and it earned him prize money of 35-thousand dollars (approx. GBP 15,000 sterling).
Finishing one shot behind him were Hale Irwin, also with a 69, and Larry Hinson, with a 67.
