    Background: Visit of Thai Prime Minister Field Marshal Thanom Kittikachorn Thailand's Prime Minister Thanom Kittikachorn paid a six-day visit of Taiwan in late March and early April at the invitation of the government of the Republic of China. He was greeted at the airport by Chinese Vice President and Premier C. K. Yen and other high-ranking government officials. Marshal Thanom was accorded full military honors.

    He went to a Taipei suburb to lay a wreath at the Chinese martyrs' shrine. Accompanying him were Chinese Foreign Minister Wai Two-??? and Chief of General Staff Li Yu-hsi.

    President and Madame Chiang Kai-shek ???ot with the Thai Prime Minister three times. The Thai and Chinese leaders exchange views on Asian and world affairs.

    Prime Minister Th??? visited the Palace Museum too see China's art masterpiece of the last 5,000 years. He and his entourage flew to southern Taiwan to see the harvesting and shipment of bananas, Taiwan's principle export to Japan. They also toured farm villages to see the accomplishments of land reform.
