Background: Several designers revealed their Spring-Summer fashion collections for 1972 in Rome on Monday (18 October). Emilio Pucci, Heinz Rive and Enzo drew the most interest.
While not abandoning the typical, well-made dress with a symmetrical cut sleeves, Heinz Riva is suggesting the "tent look". Requiring fabrics with a great deal of body, the line is different-- a silhouette often softened by two or three horizontal flounces.
Enzo accented costs and suite all in black and white. They stand out in graphic terms, like so many silhouettes in line drawing. As always, Enzo is in favour of an efficient fashion, not lazy, and not languorous.
Leisure is the theme of Pucci's 1972 collection. The look is casual, colourful, contemporary yet elegant, feminine and romantic. Skirts are long for evening and afternoon -- to the knee of above for daytime.
SYNOPSIS: Top fashion designers in Rome on Monday, revealed their 1972 Spring and Summer collections. Heinz Riva has not abandoned the typical, well-made, littlest dress, with a symmetrical cut of sleaves. In suits and coats the waist is often stressed by original belts. Riva has also come up with the "tent look". The line is different -- a silhouette, a very definite shape. These styles require fabrics with a great deal of body.
Enzo, in his collection, stressed coats and suits all in black and white. They stand out, in graphic terms, like so many silhouettes in line drawing. As always, Enzo is in favour of efficient fashion. The highlights are three-piece suits, ensembles with laring skirts and broadly scooped blouses.
At the fashion house of Emilio Pucci, leisure was the theme for 1972. His collection embraces every hour of the day --from early morning swimming to late night dancing, from informal occasions to great gala evenings. The look is casual, colourful, contemporary yet elegant, feminine and romantic. Skirts are long for evening and afternoon to the knee and above for daytime. The swim-wear combines several elements affording maximum freedom of movement.
