Background: Before setting out from New Delhi for their tour of the Indian sub-continent, Queen Elizabeth II and her husband the Duke of Edinburgh went to the Jaipur Polo Grounds Jan 28 ... the Queen as a spectator, and the Duke as a player.
The Duke played for one side, and the Maharajah of Jaipur was in the opposing team of Indian Army chiefs. The Maharajah is considered one of the world's best pole players, but the result was a 3-3 draw. The Duke scored two of his side's three goals in this exhibition.
Afterwards, the Queen met the team and presented cups all round to the players - including her husband. Then she posed with them for a Group photograph.
