    REPORTER: "WHAT'S HE GOING TO DO NOW - IS HE GOING TO SEEK ASYLUM SOMEWHERE?"



    BOSSMAN: "I REALLY HAVE NO IDEA - YOU SEE I'M NOT A MEMBER OF HIS PERSONAL PARTY SO I COULDN'T TELL YOU."



    REPORTER: "DO YOU THINK HE HAS STILL ENOUGH POLITICAL SUPPORT LEFT IN GHANA TO TRY TO MAKE A POLITICAL COME-BACK?"



    BOSSMAN: "WELL FROM WHAT I HEAR, SINCE MY TRAVEL BACK, I DON'T THINK HE HAS ENOUGH SUPPORT."



    REPORTER: "TELL ME WHY HAS MR. QUISON-SACKEY THE FOREIGN MINISTER - GONE TO ADDIS ABABA?"



    BOSSMAN: "WELL, I HAD A TALK WITH HIM: APPARENTLY HE HAS HAD INSTRUCTIONS TO DO A JOB THERE, BUT HE TOLD ME THAT HE FOUND IT IMPOSSIBLE TO CARRY ON WITH THE INSTRUCTIONS THAT HE HAD BEEN GIVEN BY DR NKRUMAH, AND THAT HE WAS GOING TO

    Background: DR. JONATHAN BOSSMAN, AN AIDE OF THE OUSTED GHANAIAN PRESIDENT, DR. NKRUMAH, FLEW INTO LONDON THIS MORNING (MONDAY). HE TOLD REPORTERS AT LONDON AIRPORT THAT MR. ALEX QUAISON-SACKEY, THE FORMER GHANA FOREIGN MINISTER WHO HAS BEEN SENT TO THE AFRICAN FOREIGN MINISTERS CONFERENCE IN ADDIS ABABA, BELIEVED HIS INSTRUCTIONS TO BE IMPOSSIBLE.

    DR. BOSSMAN AND MR. QUAISON-SACKEY WERE WITH DR. NKRUMAH IN PEKING WHEN THE COUP TOOK POWER IN GHANA. THEY TRAVELLED BY RAIL FROM PEKING TO HONGKONG TOGETHER AND CAUGHT THE SAME FLIGHT OUT. MR. QUAISON-SACKEY LEFT THE PLANE AT FRANKFURT TO CATCH A FLIGHT TO ETHIOPIA, WHILE DR. BOSSMAN FLEW ON TO LONDON.

    DR. BOSSMAN, WHO HAS NAMED GHANA HIGH COMMISSIONER IN LONDON BEFORE DR. NKRUMAH BROKE RELATIONS WITH BRITAIN OVER RHODESIA LAST DECEMBER, SAID THAT HE HIMSELF WAS GIVING HIS LOYALTY TO THE NEW REGIME IN ACCRA.
