Background: Voting in the third Ciskeian General Election got off to a good start today at polling stations throughout the Republic. (P A U S E) In the Black State itself, voters go to the polls on Wednesday.

The polling stations in SOUTH AFRICA will stay open until Friday--during normal office hours, except in PORT ELIZABETH, where the booths open at seven o'clock in the morning and close at nine in the evening.

Most centres reported steady flow of voters, and in JOHANNESBURG The Commissioner of PLURAL RELATIONS has asked employers to give their Ciskeian staff time off to cast their votes.
