As usual complete silence surrounded all his activities. Journalists surrounding the residence were intrigued this morning when the greek flag ???ed not royal flag as earlier reported was hoisted on the flag-post. and embassy spokesman refused to give any explanation.
The Italian press today believed that the archbishop and Mr. Pipinelis had taken back the Kings conditions for returning to Greece-or possibly for abdicating in favour of a relative or regent.
Political observers here believed a possible alternative would be to form a government in exile.
Archbishop Geronimos said on his return to Athens last night that the Kings return now depended on the government but he gave no indication of when a decision might be expected.
