    Background: President Zulfikar Ali Bhutte of Pakistan, continuing his tour of the African continent, arrived in Khartoum on Sunday for a 24-hour visit.

    He was greeted at Khartoum Airport by the Sudanese President, Major-General Jaafar Al Nimeiry. During their talks, the two leaders discussed recent developments on the Indian sub-continent, the Middle East and Africa. They also reviewed bilateral relations.

    Later, President Bhutto left Khartoum for Nigeria--and has since moved on to Quines and Mauritania. His trip is described as a goodwill tour.

    SYNOPSIS: At Khartoum Airport on Sunday--the arrival of an aircraft carrying President Bhutto of Pakistan. The Sudan's President Nimeiry was on the tarmac to greet President Bhutto--along with other senior members of Sudan's military government. President Bhutto's visit to Khartoum was to be a short one--lasting just a single day. He's on a tour of the African continent--a trip officially described as a goodwill visit.

    Official greetings at the airport were followed by talks in which the two presidents reviewed recent developments on the Indian sub-continent and in the Middle East. The two men also discussed present trends in Africa-- including President Bhutto's tour.

    During his tour, President Bhutto is looking at ways in which Pakistan can improve relations with countries in Africa. In Khartoum--as in other capitals on this tour--he spoke to President Nimeiry and his senior ministers about ways in which contacts between their countries could be expanded. From Khartoum--President Bhutto flew on to Nigeria, Guinea and Mauritania.
