    US Secretary of the Treasury. William Simon, and Egypt's first deputy premier, Dr. Abdel Aziz Hegazy, broke off from their extensive talks Cairo today to brief journalists and to publicly sign new financial cooperation agreement. Both men ranged at length over details of the agreement and what it would mean. Dr. Hegazy also answered questions about guarantees that US property that comes into Egypt would not be nationalised and talked about the credit worthiness of Egypt. FULL DETAILS REUTER.

    Note: best part comes at end where Hegazy talks about how Egypt managed to stay afloat during six and a half years of war and near war, without foreign investment, and while spending thousands of millions of pounds on armaments. If it could manage then, why could it not do so during a period of reconstruction.
