Background: More than a hundred and sixty international rally drivers have been taking part in the 1960 "Rally to the Midnight Sun" -- Stockholm to Ostersund-- June 15-18, covering more than fifteen-hundred miles.
Organised by the Swedish Royal Automobile Club (KAK), the Rally - the eleventh - carries a first prize of a trophy and 3000 kronor. The route was through Joenkoping, Gaevle, Sollefteaa, Viholmina and on to Ostersund, south of the Arctic Circle.
Overall winner was Sweden's Carl Magnus Skogh, of Amals club, driving a Saab 96, second came Harry Bengtsson, also of Sweden, in a Porsche Super 90, and the women's section was won by Britain's Mrs. Anne Hall.
