    Chay Blyth set out from New York on 19 September to beat the record for a voyage from New York to San Francisco by way of Cape Horn. The record was set by the CLIPPER FLYING CLOUD in 1851 and stands at 89 days and 21 hours. Blyth set off in his TRIMARAN BEEFEATER 2. Blyth, a British adventurer began his nautical exploits in 1966 rowing across the Atlantic in 92 days. Since then he has also sailed around the world. This will be the fourth time he sails around the treacherous Cape Horn.
