SYNOPSIS: Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales, was welcomed by Lieutenant-General F.W.K. Akuffo, Ghana's Chief of Defence Staff. With General Akuffo was Ghana's Foreign Affairs Commissioner, Colonel Roger Felli. The two army officers were standing in for Ghanaian Head of State General Ignatius Acheampong, who could not be there.
Welcoming Prince Charles, General Akuffo expressed Ghana's gratitude to him for accepting the invitation. The main Reason for the visit is the golden jubilee celebrations of the Achimota School, one of the oldest secondary schools in Ghana. The school was founded in 1927 by the then Prince of Wales, the Duke of Windsor.
