Background: Thirty-seven riders competed Sunday (7 May) in the Grand Prix moto-cross for motorcycles of the 250cc class. The race, the third of this season which counts for points toward the world championship, was held in Markelo, Holland.
Two Belgians, Joel Robert and Sylvain Geboers, led the field. A Russian, Gennady Moiseev, placed third.
The race marked the fortieth anniversary of the Motor Club of Markelo.
