Background: 134 young Greek-Cypriot men arrived at Piraeus, Greece, Oct. 12, as honoured guests of the Greek Government. For the next few years they will study at Greek universities and colleges.
Their all-expenses-paid advance education is part of a scheme to help Cyprus youth, especially those recognized by EDMA - political successor to militant EOKA - as having helped fight 'imperialism' in Cyprus.
The youths arrived in Greece aboard the vessel 'Media'. Many more of them will make the crossing from Cyprus as the aid-scheme gets under way.
