The competitors were drawn from industrial concerns all over the country. The events range from Football, Basketball, Shooting, Hunting, Tennis and Swimming to Gymnastics. These Syndical Games are arranged each year under the auspices of the Spanish Trade Unions.
Those participating paraded round the Stadium and were reviewed by the Spanish Chief Executive, Generalissimo Franco, accompanied by the Diplomatic Corps.
Over tone hundred and twenty thousand people filled the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, cheering their leader and the competitors.
The Spanish Railways had entered a group of two hundred men who gave and exhibition of leaping and tumbling. Another outstanding event was performed by the Empresa Nacional Basan----the biggest ship building company in Spain-----contingent. Their contribution was some spectacular gymnastics, combining ability with discipline and perfect harmony. The human tower was the climax to the Games, being an attempt to symbolize the stature of labour in Spain.
