Background: Autumn and winter fashions from the house of Dior in Paris today joined the trend away from the mini-skirt and put hemlines firmly below the knee.
A two-tone fur coat with a flare hemline to calf length was Dior's first creation on show today. Like most of his designs, both in coats and dresses, it was belted to emphasise the waistline.
Accessories were in evidence in a beige dress, pleated from the waist to the hips and with a wide belt. With this creation, Dior added a long scarf and a string of large pearls.
The cape was in evidence in a matching grey jersey dress and cape with a hat of the same material.
Finally - and traditionally - Dior's collection included a wedding dress complete with veil and fur muff.
