ALI: "And a washerwoman like George Foreman, who can't fight at all, can't throw a left job, he's just terrible (laughter). Don't believe me? Go get the film. I'm going to show you now. And listen, Joe Bugner -- he couldn't do nothing to him. Bugner had him marking a couple times. Joe Frazier's in trouble, because the Muhammad Ali Joe Frazier's going to meet going to be better than the one he met three years ago."

Background: Muhammad Ali, the former world heavyweight champion, is fitter and faster than ever. The opinion, of course, come from Ali himself currently training hard for the fight being billed as "The Rematch of the Century" -- his return bout with another former champion Joe Frazier scheduled for ??? 28.

While Frazier works out in a city gym, Ali has chosen to train at a log cabin compound high in Pennsylvania's Pocono Mountains. Reportedly he's even been scrapping with a couple of Alsatian dogs, keeping them at be with a heavily padded arm, to quicken his reflexes -- and he says, to erase any fears of Frazier that may be lurking in his sub-conscious.

But there was no sign of the dogs when Visnews filmed Ali working out at his camp yesterday (Wednesday, January 16). Nevertheless, Ali looked fast enough while shadow boxing and sparring. And he claimed he has no fears of Frazier or the current world champion George Foreman -- Ali's manager Angelo Dundee says Ali wouldn't turn down an offer to fight Foreman:
SYNOPSIS: Escaping the big city ballyhoo, former world heavyweight boxing champion Muhammad Ali has chosen a country retreat deep in Pennsylvania's Pocono Mountains to train for one of the most crucial fights in his colourful career.

Ali was filmed on Wednesday, just a couple of days before his thirty-second birthday. He's training harder than ever for a bout that is being billed as the rematch of the century -- a repeat of his epic contest with another former world champion, Joe Frazier.

Despite the country setting, Ali holds court in his own inimitable style. He jokes that Frazier has made a bad choice by training in the city amidst the fumes and noise. The peace of the country is more to Ali's taste. But to keep things from becoming too peaceful, Ali has reportedly included a couple of savage Alsatian dogs in his training routine -- keeping them at bay with a heavily padded are to quicken his reflexes.

Ali says he's faster and fitter than ever. And manager Angelo Dundee says his boxer wouldn't turn down an offer to fight current heavyweight champion George Foreman if the Frazier about's a success. Ali is looking forward to a fight with Foreman too.
