Background: Film shows the Saturn Missile mast, 82ft high, that will develop the 32 million horsepower snd a total rocket thrust of 1,5million pounds needed to send a 10-ton spaceship into orbit, carrying a human being.

In this static test the missile was not meant to go anywhere, but the ground shook for two minutes while the eight engines thundered together and burned up enough fuel to fill 10 railroad tank cars.

Saturn is the United States answer to the Soviet rockets, but like the rest of the United States space programme it is lagging behind.

The first test flight may not take place until well into 1961, and the Saturn will not be ready for operational flight, so its reported, until 1964.
