Background: A conference to discuss the proposed European Free Trade Area was opened in London by the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Mr Heathcoat Amory. Attended by employers and Union leaders from fifteen countries - under the joint chairmanship of Sir Edward Beddington-Behrens and Mr Alfred Robens-- the three-day conference is being held at Church House, Westminster.

The Duke of Edinburgh was also at the opening session.
In his speech Mr Heathcoat Amory urged spread in negotiating the Free Trade Area. He ?wne ton.......
