Background: President Nixon's visit to China has brought a push of business to a small San Francisco import fire that has cornered the market on Mao buttons.

The firm bought 55,000 of the buttons, and has already sold 15,000 at a dollar 50 each. At first glance, Chmn Mao on the button there is a striking resemblance to Alfred Hitchcock...The Mao sales campaign has yet to shift into high gear; workers are busy stamping made-in-China in English on his pin. It's already on there in Chinese, but every sales gimmick helps. Plans now are to ship display cards to stores in most major US cities..at the moment...they're stuffed in drawers and boxes. Anticipating success with the button venture, the company soon will bring in Chinese bicycles, peasant hats, and posters.
