Background: Prior to their visit to Moscow, King Mahendra and Queen Raiya Ratna Devi of Nepal went to India for a two day private visit. They were met at Palam Airport, New Delhi, on June 2nd, by Mr. Nehru, the Indian Premier, and his Cabinet. Among the people presented to their Majesties were the High Commissioners for Britain and Canada, the United States Ambassador, Mr. Bunker, and the Chinese Ambassador.
The Nepal King and his wife arrived aboard an Indian Air Force plane, and were later driven to their residence, with Mr. Nehru, in a black Cadillac.
