Background: At Rome's Palazzo Braschi yesterday (thursday), three of Italy's main designers of men's fashions presented the last display for 1972 - from now on, male fashions will only be shown once a year, in the Spring.

Samo, Palazzi and Litrico stressed the sporty and casual look - even in their evening wear. Colours were primarily light and bright, with only the occasional black, navy or charcoal. Materials too were hard-wearing and casual - twills, irish linens, hopsacks, tweeds, soft wools. Only evening wear came in for satins and velvets.
