Background: A colourful and imaginative fashion show entitled "Black Boys Fashion Spectacular" was staged at the Commonwealth Institute in London on Tuesday (July 28).
The fashion show was presented by the Association of Jamaicans (U.K.) in aid of the 21st. Anniversary Appeal of the University of the West Indies.
To the accompaniment of a Steel Band, the models danced through a series of attractive routines which showed off effectively the modern styling of their colourful outfits.
There was none of the formality normally associated with a show of new clothing designs. The atmosphere for both audience and models was one of relaxed enjoyment.
Strongly in evidence was the "Midi Look", although there were several "Mini" dresses in the collection. Evening wear was generally long, flowing and dramatic. But throughout the collection it was bright colours which dominated and ware set-off by the attractive models.
